We visited Arcadia Pediatric Dental for a check-up and for my youngest, it was a fun day out! [ad]
The waiting room is clean and bright with a jungle gym and free arcade games. 🎮
The office equipment is new, the staff is so nice and every exam chair has a tv above it. 📺
After the exam, my little patient got a goody bag with a tooth care kit plus surprise toys, a crown and a ballon! 🎈
Arcadia Dental employs board-certified Pediatric Dentists. Not only do these dentists complete an additional two years of specialty training following dental school, they also participated in an additional voluntary examination process to obtain board-certification in order to provide children with the highest level of specialized care.👨🎓
Parents are able to accompany children at every step. They see kids as young as when they get their first tooth or by the time they turn 1 (whichever comes first) and accept most major health insurances as well as AHCCCS. ✔️
They even have an orthodontist practice in the same building when your child is ready for the next step! 😁
Some tips for first time dentist visits:
🔹Start them young! The more they go when they are little, the less scary it is when they get older
🔹Relax! If you’re relaxed, they will be too. The staff know what they are doing and won’t push your child beyond what they are comfortable with
🔹Use positive words like, “I bet your teeth will be so shiny!”
🔹Distract them with the goody bag, “I wonder what cool things you will get?”
🔹Finally, if the dentist wants to do X-rays and you don’t think your child is ready, it is OK to say no and defer it to the next appointment (I’ve had to do this myself in the past)
