Independence Day Events Near Phoenix 2022 

While it looks like the city of Phoenix has cancelled their fireworks shows this year according to AZ Central, here are some other opportunities to celebrate this year!

Anthem 

Independence Day Celebration | July 3 | 5:30–9:30 p.m.  

Celebrate Anthem’s 22nd Independence Day Celebration with a fireworks display, fun rides and water slides, activities, and festival food! Families bring blankets and lawn chairs and sit back to enjoy the fun-filled event.

Apache Junction 

4th of July Celebration | July 4th | 6pm

The main event is located at Apache Junction High School at 2525 S. Ironwood Road in the area South of the football field, by baseball and practice fields. The gates will open at 6 pm. This is a free event, open to the public (a small fee for food and game booths will apply).Game booths, hosted by local organizations and activities for kids will take place at the field starting at 6pm. Bicycle, Tricycle, & Wagon Mini Float Contest – judging at 6:30 p.m., floats should be placed in front of the main Parks & Recreation booth- Winners will be announced around 7pm during the bands intermission.

Avondale 

Light Up the Sky Celebration | Mon, Jul 4, 5 – 10 PM

The inaugural Avondale Light Up The Sky 4th of July Celebration presented by Avondale Toyota welcomed more than 3,000 guests (1,200+ cars) to Phoenix Raceway on July 4th. The 140 guests in the VIP section danced along to the musical stylings of Epic DJ, played cornhole, and devoured gourmet food from Rudy’s Trackside. The general admission area tailgated with their friends and family, enjoyed the variety of food truck vendors, played games and created crafts in the Kid Zone, and enjoyed the live music from The Raun Alosi Band, before being dazzled by the 25-minute spectacular fireworks show.

Buckeye

Independence Day Celebration | July 2, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Pack your blanket and chairs and enjoy the tailgate style event at Buckeye’s Independence Day Celebration. Bring out your favorite yard games and friends and do not forget the water! This festive event will also include All-American eats & treats with a variety of food trucks and vendors and music by the Rhythm Edition. The patriotic celebration will finish with a drive-in style fireworks show at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Chandler

CHANDLER’S ALL-AMERICAN BASH | July 4th 7pm

Taking place on July 4, 2022 – the FREE fourth of July festival has been relocated to Downtown Chandler with a slew of family-friendly activities and a selection of food and beverage vendors.  This year, in lieu of fireworks, the 2022 July 4th celebration will feature a 5-minute pyrotechnic show as part of the evening concert at approximately 8:20 p.m. The park will open at 7 p.m. for general admittance.

Fountain Hills

FIRST AT THE FOUNTAIN | July 01, 2022

Join us on Friday, July 1st as we celebrate Independence Day early. Due to fireworks and pyro tech shortage, the Town was able to secure fireworks and staff for July 1st instead of July 4th. This is the SAME amazing event, just a new date for 2022. We plan to be back on the July 4th in 2023.

2022 Arizona Celebration of Freedom | July 4th 6pm – 10pm

Free to attend, the Arizona Celebration of Freedom is Arizona’s largest free 4th of July celebration — historically with crowds upwards of 50,000 — one of Mesa’s signature annual events, and a perfect way to celebrate American independence on the 4th of July with the entire family. Attendees of all ages are invited to spend the evening in Downtown Mesa to enjoy a patriotic car show, naturalization ceremony and thrilling live entertainment, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

The Great American Car Show | July 4, from 6 pm to 10 pm

One of the “must-see” attractions of this year’s Titan Solar Power Arizona Celebration of Freedom will be the Great All-American Car Show presented by Bashas’ and Food City. The car show will feature 50 pre-registered American-made vehicles on display outdoors between the Mesa Convention Center and the Mesa Amphitheatre. Registration is available through June 26. The registration fee is $20. The car show includes a “Best of Show” with trophies for first place, second place and third place. All entries will receive a commemorative dashboard plaque.

City of Peoria’s All-American Festival | July 4th 5pm to 10pm

Peoria’s All-American Festival takes place on Monday, July 4, bringing supergroup Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers to this annual Independence Day celebration. Enjoy an evening full of family-friendly entertainment, food, music, and fun! The event will span across the Peoria Sports Complex Main Stadium and into the Mariners side where a number of HUGE water slides, food and beverage vendors, and a simulcast livestream of the concert stage in Main Stadium will be happening.
